Goldfish and Children

Goldfish are an ideal pet for children. Goldfish won’t run away, they won’t make a mess on the floor, they don’t shed all over the bed, and they won’t eat homework (although your child might miss having that handy excuse!). Taking care of a goldfish can teach your child many important lessons, such as being responsible and remembering to do a task every day, and will give them a pet to care about. Children will have no difficulty reading all the easy to understand goldfish information, and will love watching their goldfish swim, eat, and grow.  They’ll even want to help pick out the tank decorations. At the same time, goldfish are great for parents because they are low cost and low maintenance, take up little space, and most important of all, are quiet. Best of all, if your child decides that they are no longer interested in caring for a goldfish, unlike the drums they begged for that wound up unused in the garage, the goldfish will be something you can enjoy.
