My Grandmother Used Her Gold to Help Finance My College Expense
As the time for my decision whether or not to go to college neared, I was really struggling with the financial end of the decision. My going away to school would cost my parents a lot of money. I had pretty much decided that this was just not something I could ask of them at this time, when Grandmother actually called up and asked me to drop by for a visit. When I told her my discouragement, she smiled, pulled out her gold coin collection, and asked me to see where I could get cash for gold coins like these. I couldn’t believe her gift, but I took it with gratitude, and now I am preparing for college.
