Buying a Tropical Fish Tank Heater

Aquarium heaters are one of the important components of a tropical fish tank. They help maintain the right temperature for tropical fish to survive, especially during the cold season. Choices for a tropical fish tank heater depend on personal preferences, the size of the tank, and whether or not the tank owner wants the heater to be less noticeable. There are heaters that are small and inconspicuous. You can also choose a tropical fish tank heater that can be hung or submerged. More expensive heaters are encased in a protective glass casing that does not allow heat to escape, which allows the bulb to be submerged in the water. Cheaper units cannot be fully submerged and, therefore, must be installed upright. For the most unobtrusive type, you can go for the filter heater, which is fitted inside the filter and warms the water as it passes through. This is the newest design in heaters but can be fairly expensive.
