What is the cause of Chilblains?
The cause of Chilblains is due to the sensitivity to cold and poor circulation which is manifested of red and itchy skin. It is usually found in toes and fingers but it can affect the ears and the nose. Due to tight shoes it can contribute irritation and pressure on the skin of the toes, that’s the very reason why these is usually found in feet. Chilblains can cause any permanent damage to the skin. The exact cause is not known, but the way the small blood vessels in the skin react to cold is the problem, especially when there is abrupt change in temperature.
