Discounts, Coupons or Certificates for your Restaurant

Would you offer discounts to your restaurant patrons as a marketing stunt? Offering discounts and coupons may actually demean or lower the value of your restaurant. Retail shops and department stores offer price cuts and discounts at the end of season sales when they are trying to get rid of unsold or passe items. This is tantamount to saying that your dishes and service aren’t worth much or not deserving of a decent price. Is your restaurant passe? Are your dishes unpopular? A better ploy to make your customers feel that they are getting more value for their money at your restaurant business is by awarding certificates, not coupons or discounts. You could also offer complimentary beverages, appetizers, samplers or desserts on lean days and months.
